[…] and I recently ported the quoting technology from MetaForum into a Wordpress Plugin, and named it ClickQuote. Coincidentally, this just so happens to be a wordpress blog, running that very plugin. Basically […]

I think there should be some ‘I totally added the text, senor’ notification. I had to scroll down five pages to see that it worked. New users will be put off and confused.
But awesome.

Yeah, I was thinking of a cool ghost-like animation where the block of text kicks up off the screen and flies down to the reply window. So at least there is some visual notification that something happened.

Well, this is kind of cool. How will readers know that they can use this feature though? That might be a problem. Still, very nice plugin. I may give it a try.
13. admin | November 27th, 2007 at 7:56 am
Well, there is a tooltip that pops up over each paragraph that says “Click here to quote this paragraph”.
Hopefully so many millions of people will use it that it just becomes standard

Really cool. I will give see what if my readers can use it. I may need to check how it interacts with other plugins, but this is a great idea.
Thanks!

That is pretty sweet.
My concerns:
Interactions with other plugins
The majority of users, i.e., lurkers, may find it intrusive.
23. brian culler | December 5th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
Yeah, the next version will address all those issues. This was somewhat of a proof of concept just to see if there was any interest in it, and so far there has been.

This is nearly perfect - thank you!
I wonder if there might be a way to include a “USERNAME said …” link prior to the blockquote, so that people can quickly link upward to the previous comment being quoted. I dearly miss that functionality from a previous plugin that has not been updated, and no longer works with 2.5

At first I feel interested, but when I try it on your blog, I feel it will get trouble for my reader. The problem is:
a. Whole paragraph are copied with just one click. How if just half part of the paragraph will be commented?
b. Readers make a click in almost all their action. A click can make false click I mean.

It appears to work just fine with WP 2.7
It would be handy if when someone clicks on a link it didn’t quote the paragraph which contains the link.
